A miniature cosmos captured in stone - the Australian boulder opal flashes with the deep, electric blues and vivid green fire of a subterranean nebula, anchored by its natural, earthy ironstone matrix. Set in warm 22K gold bezel, the centerpiece rests upon a dramatic oxidized sterling silver backplate with sharp, vertical hammer marks. Each strike catches the light when the piece is moved. Around this dark canvas there is a constellation of solid 18-karat gold dots. The bail is 18K gold as well. Opal measures mm, and it is 4.05ct. in weight.
