Here I have a flashy Australian boulder opal (20x8mm) from Queensland. Like other precious opals, it displays iridescent flashes of different colors, but the dark ironstone backing makes these colors appear more intense, almost like a black opal. It is offering a stunning depth, vibrant colors, contrast, and a durability of a host rock. I set this beauty in 22K gold bezel on top of textured silver backplate with 18K gold accents. Pendant measures 1 1/4 x 3/4" (not including the bail loop). Chain is 18" - optional (add on). Beautiful stone!
