This necklace looks like a little piece of the sky and sun put together. It has shiny yellow gold pieces shaped like chunky half-moons that look like they were hammered with a small rock to make them dimpled and sparkly. These are gold-filled, which basically means there is a thick, real layer of 14k gold on the outside of metal, so it looks expensive and warm in color, but it’s sturdy enough to wear every day without worrying about it rubbing off. Gold-filled metal is more costly than sterling silver, but less costly than solid gold, offering the luxurious look of solid gold at a fraction of the price. In the center of the necklace there is vibrant robin’s-egg blue turquoise that is set in oxidized sterling silver with 18K gold dot accent. This is natural Bluebird turquoise from Arizona.
